Reiki Directory: The Importance of Your Reiki Business Listing
Just like your own Reiki Website, Reiki Blog or Social Media Channels; your Reiki Healing Association Reiki Directory Business Listing is a great way to showcase your Reiki Business on a global stage. It may well be the first time that prospective Reiki clients or students are introduced to you and the type of Reiki products and services that you provide in person or online, so you want to ensure that their first impression of you and your Reiki business is a good one. Remember you only get one chance to make a good first impression.
Just adding your name or contact details or a link to your website on your Reiki Directory Business Listing is simply not enough. You want to use this space to instantly connect with your potential clients and show them why they should find out more about you.
They already know they can trust you as you are on the Reiki Healing Association website, which means you follow the RHA’s strong Code of Ethics in your business. But what can you tell them about you and all the great services you have to offer? How can you stand out from the crowd and present yourself in a positive and appealing way?
Luckily, there are some very simple ways you can maximise the potential of your RHA Reiki business listing, and we’ve pulled together our top tips for building a great Reiki business listing!
As we work through each tip, remember to place yourself in the shoes of one of your potential Reiki clients or students. Imagine that you have been searching online for a local Reiki Practitioner or Reiki Workshop. Your web browsing has brought you to the Reiki Healing Association website and you do a search for a Reiki Practitioner/Master in your local area.
The results of your search show that there are three Reiki Masters in your local catchment area, all within easy reach. Ask yourself what information and detail would you want to know about these three local RMT’s in order for you to pick up the phone and book an appointment or sign up for their Reiki Workshop.
So with that in mind, let’s look at how you can beef up your Reiki business listing so you can instantly connect, build rapport and engage with your audience of potential Reiki clients and Reiki Students!

1. Your Reiki Directory Profile Image – Putting a Face to a Name
They say an image is worth a thousand words – a phrase that basically means that photos and pictures can often communicate information in a much more powerful way that just words alone. People like to connect and buy from people that they know and trust and having a quality photo of yourself and your business is one way in which you can build instant credibility. A face-less Reiki business listing can often fall a bit flat as you don’t really show the personality behind your Reiki business. We advise that you add a few photos to your Reiki business listing, including a recent photo of yourself if you have one. When choosing the photos you want to upload, you can use this checklist to select the right ones:
- Photo Quality – make sure that you use high-resolution images. Blurry pictures or pictures with lots of filters on them don’t look very professional!
- Inspiring Pictures – select happy, positive and inspiring images that show the benefits of a Reiki session with you.
- Think about how you can showcase your unique personality and services – do you have photos of your healing room, a photo from a live workshop you have run, or can you add in a photos of some of your happy Reiki students from a recent course?
2. Your Reiki Directory Business Bio – It’s all about the details
A lot of RMT’s make the same mistake of thinking that adding just a couple of lines to their Reiki business listing is enough to make a statement. But using your unique Reiki business listing to say something like “I am a Certified Reiki Master, please visit my website for more information”, is never going to grab the attention of a potential client and student. That’s like saying ‘this toaster will toast bread.’ It’s too basic! It’s a given that you are a Reiki professional if you are listed on the Reiki Healing Association Directory, so that information isn’t going to help you stand out and highlight why people should work with you. You want a bio that will drive new customers to flock to your website, blog or Facebook page.
So once you have added your Name and some basic information, it’s time to add some colour to your bio and bring your Reiki business listing to life! Ideally you want to add about 500 words to your Reiki business listing so people get to know you better. You want to add in some unique information about your business and what you are all about. Imagine you were meeting someone at an event for the first time and you wanted to give them a little introduction to who you are and what you do. If you are stuck on this bit, try answering these questions in your bio:
- When and why did you get started?
- What are you most passionate about?
- What healing modalities do you use in your business?
- How do you want your clients/students to feel when they work with you?
Here’s a great example from one of our Members, Diana Turner-Forte: “Diana Turner-Forte is a certified Usui Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner. Her passion for healing and Reiki evolved out of a professional dance career, performing throughout the United States and in Mexico. Throughout her performing career she explored numerous self-healing and somatic body therapies to enhance her performance and to stay healthy and injury free through long rehearsals. Her commitment to personal well-being, as well as educating people on ways to heal and grow spiritually is rooted in her own personal experience.” See Diana’s Profile here.
3. Listing Your Services
So you’ve captured the attention of your potential students and clients, and now they want to know a bit more about what you offer. It’s time to add a list of your most popular services to your bio. You can add your prices here to if you want to.
Just imagine you walked past a new hair salon or yoga studio in your local area and they were handing out flyers about the new business. What useful pieces of information would they include?
Your prospective client would be interested in knowing what types of sessions and services you provide e.g. 45 Minute Animal Reiki Session, 1 Hour Distant Healing Reiki Session, 30 min Pregnancy Reiki session.
You also want to add you business hours so that people know when they can contact you and book sessions or classes with you.
4. Adding a Review
Reviews and testimonials are like gold-dust for any business. If you can add real and authentic feedback that you have received from previous clients and students then you add instant credibility to your Reiki Directory business listing. One study found that over 90% of people read at least one online review before deciding to visit a business. Reviews are a simple way to build significant trust and credibility. These are real words from real customers, telling other customers why they loved your services and products.
5. Your Contact Information
Don’t forget this practical step when setting up your Reiki Directory business listing: adding your business contact details. Make sure your potential clients can get in touch with you – add your website, email and other contact information which you think is relevant so they can reach out to you and book a class or session.
6. Look at Examples for Inspiration
Take a look around the Reiki Business Directory and check out some of the other Reiki Practitioners/Masters business listings. Looking through the eyes of a potential Reiki Client or Student; see how they compare to your own business listing. Do they provide enough detail? Have they added any of their own images? Have they engaged with you or sparked an interest for more information? Is it easy to contact them for more information? From what you discover/learn looking at other Reiki Business Listings; make a note of what you could do now to help improve your own Reiki Business Listing.
Here are a few great examples you can look at for inspiration, these are some killer profiles from a few of our Reiki Healing Association Members:
